Patience… After 25 shots, this particular butterfly gave up and agreed to pose according to contract!

Adjusting aperture to blur the background allows me to create a painterly backdrop to frame my main subject—in this case a branch on my Bleeding Heart Plant.

 

Cindy DiPierdomenico's Biography:

As an Art Director with iiCREATiVE, Cindy is constantly challenged to create effective marketing materials and website designs for their clients. After hours, her creative outlets include photography and gardening. Her flower gardens attract an assortment of wildlife that shows up for impromptu photo sessions. She also enjoys photographing people but they tend to take cover when the camera comes out (nature is somewhat more cooperative)! She uses a Nikon D40 digital SLR so the worry of wasting film to get just the right shot has been eliminated. Tip: Be patient and keep shooting, you never know when you’ll get that perfect shot.
